Sins of a Solar Empire has stopped working!

Oh noes!

Every 5 minutes or so, my game crashes and I get this error. The weird thing is that this didn't used to happen. My game used to work flawlessly, and then it got a crash once in a while, when I would run a game before Sins. Now, regarldess of what I do, my game constantly crashes.

I run it on a Sony Vaio laptop with Windows Vista with SP1. 3GB Ram, 2.8(?)Ghz Processor, 256MB video card (Nvidia, 8400M GT I think). I have all my graphics on highest, it has no slow down or anything. I turned Bloom Effects off at the recommendation of some on this board. All of my other games run fine on this computer.

Any suggestions? This game is awesome and I really want to play it.

Try updating your sound drivers and video drivers.  The older Nvidia drivers (anything under 174.xx) have known issues with crashing, etc.

If Sony hasn't posted the newer drivers yet, you can workaround the laptop restriction by getting them from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/.
