Newbie question about entire Gal Civ bundle

If I buy the entire Gal Civ bundle with both expansion packs, are the upgrades retroactive? Meaning, if I play the original Gal Civ II  campaign, will it have upgraded graphics, techs, etc? Or do those not kick in until you play the expansions themselves?

I want to play the game from the original campaign onwards and I'm just curious if I should not bother and just jump straight to Twilight to benefit from the enhancements.

You can play the DL campaign via DA, but prior campaigns are presently disabled in TA.

By "presently disabled", do you mean that there are future plans to enable the campaigns in TA?

They were enabled in the beta, but I'm not sure offhand why they were disabled for release so I can't really say if they'll be back.
