System tray now invisible, even after Windowblinds uninstalled

I got Windowblinds and installed it, used the Diamond skin which looks really nice, but my system tray disappears. No arrow icon, or anything, but the clock's still there. Couldn't find an option anywhere to show it, so I got frustrated and uninstalled the app... but the system tray doesn't return. No matter what I do I can't get it back, even after reinstalling and uninstalling, and rebooting dozens of times.

I googled and every response is "Uncheck 'hide inactive icons'..." but that option isn't there. The option to "Hide inactive icons / customize" is greyed out and unselectable. :(

Has this happened to anyone? Using the system tray is vital for a lot of the software I use and reformatting isn't an option, so I'm desperate.

You don't say if you're on XP or Vista, but if it's XP (and maybe for Vista too) did you apply the "Windows Classic" skin from within the Windowblinds Configuration before you uninstalled Windowblinds?

If not, (don't cringe) re-install WB, load the Windows Classic skin (1st skin on the left). See if you can get the systray back at that point.

If you can, then I'd reboot once again at that point, then it should boot back up without WindowBlinds loaded and the classic theme showing. If you still can't get the systray back at this point, you may as well leave WB installed until the next idea comes up, no point in uninstalling it again right now I don't think.

I'm not guaranteeing this and I won't take it personally if you wait for another opinion, but you do say you're desperate. Won't take that long to try and I do believe uninstalling goes better that way.

Let us know.

Reinstall WB, open WB config, Settings tab, The taskbar should be sized as follows, from drop down list select skin decides taskbar size. It sounds like is is set to Small taskbar now, just test at small setting and have no tray icons with Diamond, do have the tray arrow.
This is due to the content margins for the tray when the skin was created. If you want to run at small taskbar size you would need to edit in SkinStudio the margins for the tray.
