Just a thing to consider and maybe for once its just me wishful thinking but you know how a good few of you were here from beta? Well obviously you folks are very good at the game. Im banking on the fact theres many like me who think about going on ICO and then think hmm I still have many weaknesses in my game so I decide just spend tonight on sp. Sometimes I have even went on IC and I have looked at the stats of the people in the room. I then think dam it wouldnt be fair , say they get me on their team ........they may risk a loss. I couldnt care about losing but some people freak out about it, yes its immature but I wouldnt want that as a newbie, i.e someone shouting at me .
In saying that when I did play MP the guy that was on my team told me about putting more to the bounty and such but he didnt start shouting abuse at me which was cool.
I hate to bring up a somewhat easier game but when you look at like CS source well all levels play that game , and its just accepted. I dunno I just think if many newbies get the impression its just veterans on they are going to practice more on sp. However if people adopt the attitude that newbies are needed online then maybe more newbies will play and become vets. Also most newbies think the ai is great, and are waiting until they beat the ai easily with all factions. I suppose theres many factors. Also with some people not being able to port forward and other connection issues. Regarding that though thus far I have been able to host and play the game no hassle so Im just hoping this NAT upgrade thats comming , well that everything still works for me.
I think a ladder would help also but it cant be done half baked, real thought needs to go into the online stats and if you disconnect you lose major stats. Ive heard all the counter arguments about what if x and y and z happens but the fact is if your pc is running stable you should be able to play mp 99% of the time without hassle so real strictness needs to be enforced in the stats code to stop people just dcing at a loss to stat pad
A proper stat system can do a game wanders, thats why I think supcomm does so well because the online lobbyserver and the alike look like they have been thought out tremendously well, has more than just the absolute basics. When I first logged into supcomm online my first thought was: The devs have really done this well and clearly been thinking how can we make mp something more than just decidedly average. It takes real creativity on the devs part to make MP a success and more than just tweaking the game but the reasons to play MP if you get what Im saying.
Thanks for reading

Im banking on the fact we should get more online as time goes on.......fingers crossed hehe
Just one final addition , although I think the game is awesome without a campaign well the fact it doesnt have one will be an immediate turn off to buying the game for many many newbies, this will also stump growth Im afraid to say, thats why I think for the game to be a lasting success the devs need to still be working with the current game, getting all the neat additions. Doing it this way you are gaurenteed to get great expansion sales because gamers are getting more cynical in some places and if things are missing from the first game whats to say things wont be missing from the expansion.
Make no mistake I love this game though , just think it has so much more potential!
