IS showing ID at the airport a violation of your rights?

I have ranted a few times about my bad experiences with the TSA. (in fact i got into it with them yesterday at the Portland airport) Showing your ID in my opinion isn't a violation of your rights, i have no problem with it whatsoever. It's all the other stuff that pisses me off.
