after downloading 1.4 my game will not even start up. any ideas why thanks

...uh... you pirated it?

Maybe de-install and re-install it and see if that helps after patching?

I'd download the pre-patched to 1.04 off SDC. I don't remember anyone reporting that the game completely won't start after patching
