Where is the font I need to change?

Virtually every WB I get has the font size in the main Windows Explorer window too small. The location I am refering to is the listing of folders/files that appears across the middle when you open My Computer. The first window shows the hard drives, the DVD players, the floppy, etc. I have always used SkinStudio to change the numbers for the font size. Typically the number that I need to change is SystemFont 5 listed under Misc/Fonts For Classic Widgets.

At the moment I am trying to  increase the font size in this window using the new Dragon WB by Stardock. No luck. The usual location for the fonts is dead. I have found another place under Misc/Presets/Fonts: however, changing these numbers has no effect whatsoever on the fonts that I need to enlarge. Other fonts do change size depending on which font I pick but not the one that I am looking for. I am using WB6 with all the new, and nifty, improvements but trying to increase the needed font size directly has no effect on the one font I am looking for. Again, other fonts throughout the WB will change but not the ones in the middle of the WE window.

So where in the heck is the font hidden?

Even if you can't answer this please help me with several other things. What exactly is the area called that I am working with in the Windows Explorer window so next time I can be specific in naming it? Also, why is it that the font numbers in the Dragon WB are all positive when every other WB I have seen uses negative ones?

Thanks.

Sometimes system font changes are not apparent until you kill explorer and relaunch it...or change skins and back...or reboot.

I think the window font is the same as icon title font

I have that problem a lot too, either it's a skin using tiny Calibri (blah) or a skin that is using boring default fonts (omg Tahoma DIEEEE). The easiest solution I've found is to go into the desktop properties > appearance > advanced > other advanced controls > and edit the Icon font that IR mentioned. It's always worked in a pinch for me, but it might reset if you change skins or reboot, I'm not sure since I don't do either very often, but it's quick and easy.

Got it! At least it seems to be working. (We need a sign that signifies fingers crossed.) I went into the place where BB recommended and played around for a while. it was not quite as easy as simply changing the Icon font. There also seems to be a connection with the overall font size that you pick. And, yes, you have to reboot to get the final result because what first appears is not the same as the last. Now I'm almost afraid to select skin that I have modified for fear of what will show up. :)

Hey, thanks to both of you. And Brainiac, I am using one of your "sick" skins right now for my Xion player. You show think seriously about directing a movie someday. At least a short clip on YouTube for us SciFi/Horror film addicts. Haha. Thanks again folks.

If you dont change it in the WB...or at least in the WBconfig...it wont stick. ;)

Changing font sizes thru windows will screw up a lot of blinds...WB config does a much better job of not borking the blind.

Changing it in SKS is best. ;)

I use Segoe -12 or -11 for all system fonts in the blind...its a safe bet and reasonably sized.(tho it truly looks best with cleartype on)
