I got the game up and running fine i can play with no crashes or anything but when i hit the menu button (or press f10) nothing shows up. It will pause the game but i cant save anything which is kinda annoying.

That's really weird.. I have no idea what it could be, are you running 1.04? Never heard anyone mention that their menu never shows up..
