Weird Things Happened In WindowBlinds - LOOK HERE

Hi, something weird happened. Please help. I have 2 computers. 1 laptop and 1 desktop. I installed Stardock Central & WindowBlinds 6 on my laptop & download quite alot of nice WindowBlinds. Everything was nice on my laptop already. Now I am going to install Stardock Central & WindowBlinds 6 on my desktop. What I did on my laptop & desktop was as below.

1st Step - I went to Stardock Central on my laptop & right click on WindowBlinds Archive Application ---> Entire Application (including skins)

2nd Step - I went to my SD Central ---> Back Up. I copy & paste the WindowBlinds backup into my HDD.

3rd Step - After I install Stardock Central on my desktop, I copy & paste the WindowBlinds backup into my desktop SD Central Folder.

4th Step - On my desktop Stardock Central, I right click on the WindowBlinds Icon ---> Restore Archive ---> choose WindowBlinds backup & click Restore.

After I click restore, everything on my desktop should now be the same as laptop right but why is there no previously downloaded WindowBlinds only the default ones in my desktop? Please help...did I miss out anything?

Click the skin options drop down in WBconfig (just above the skins) and select rebuild list.  Does this help?

Hi Neil Banfield, thanks for your reply. Tried WBconfig, don't work for me. Anyway, I will uninstall and reinstall again using the STEPS 1, 2, 3 & 4. By the way, are the steps in correct procedures to restore what you have originally?

The Skins are not in the same folder as the backed up Archive, look in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock

Ahhh I see it. So that's where my skins are hiding. :)

Ok I already copy and paste all the skins inside my laptop and transfer to my desktop WindowBlinds. It worked. Since this way works, what is the purpose of archive application???

Does that mean in future if I were to reformat my computer, I will save the skins in a HDD then reinstall Stardock Central then copy and paste from HDD back to newly reformat computer?

The purpose of the archive function is to package a previously functional application in case a new beta or release version causes problems - it is easy to revert to the previously stable version that way.

I see thank you Daiwa. Thanks for your clarification so the purpose of archive is not to restore the previously downloaded skins but to restore version only. Thank you everyone :D

You're welcome, XM.

I'm not sure about the option to include skins in the archive now that the skins folder has been relocated. I've always simply placed a copy of the skins folder somewhere as a backup or kept that folder in my nightly external drive backup routine.
