Why Can't I Download? Please Help

Hi, I recently purchased STARDOCK - OBJECT DESKTOP from stardock website. After I done the purchase, I received emails with my serial no and so on and I downloaded Stardock Central. Inside Stardock Central, I have many items under OBJECT DESKOP which I purchased and able to install them anytime.

I can only install the programes into Stardock Central like WinowBlinds 6, IconPackager, Right Click, etc....

The question is how can I download the individual exe file of WindowBlinds, IcnPackager, etc.....because after 1 year when my key expires, I can still reinstall what I had previously downloaded when I reformat my computer. Please help. Thank you.

That's not how it works with ObjectDesktop, SDC is the component manager that actually makes things easier since you can download, install, update, and manage everything through the one program.

However, if you decide to format and reinstall or after your year of free updates is up (and for some reason you decide not to renew) you can use SDC to archive your installed applications and then restore them.

Hi Bebi Bulma, thank u for your reply. So I am not able to download the exe file but I can back up maybe once a while so if I reformat my com, I can restore what I have backup previously right?

No, that's what the archive/restore feature is for. You can archive the application along with all the skins and restore it through SDC. It'll be a lot easier than just getting the exe and reinstalling that way. It will save all your settings, themes, skins, etc.

Hi thanks for your reply :) Ok I tested it already. I ARCHIVE APLICATION ---> ENTIRE APPLICATION (INCLUDING SKINS) and now inside my STARDOCK ---> SD CENTRAL ---> BACKUP got the right click backup folder as on 9th April 08.

So If I were to reformat my com next time, I can click on RESTORE ARCHIVE & restore it from there right?

*** The restored items will be as on the day (9th April 08)I archive application right?

As long as you remember to backup the backup folder (lol) and then after you reinstall SDC after formatting, put the backups back, it will see those backups and be able to restore them.

Yea just tested it by uninstall one of the program (right click) then restore it again and hey it's so much easier then installing the exe file one by one blah blah blah.... haaaaaa I see maybe i will back it up once in a while :D

Now on my 2nd computer, I am going to back up all the programs then install stardock central then restore it on my 2nd com then I will have whatever I have on my 1st com on my 2nd com. Thank you Beli Bulma. You helped me alot. :D

By the way, I have one last question. Acchive aplication one by one is abit of hassle is it possible to archive all the programs I have at one time into my backup folder then restore the backup into my 2nd com?

Is it ARCHIVE APPLICATION ---> DOWNLOAD AND ARCHIVE ALL. Y/N?

I'm not sure...I've never tried it before. I've only had like 3 programs to archive so doing it one at a time was never much of a bother.
