Unable to apply 1.3 bonus patch (some kind of I/O error?)

I have a boxed verson of Sins, I had no problem when applying 1.2 patch before, I tried to update my game to 1.3, the installation problem poped up a error message during updating the "Sins of the Solar Empire.exe" (at around 7% of the procress),it said there's some kind of I/O error and it may due to some corrupted media or so. I tried to reinstalled my game from my game disc, it started OK in 1.0 status and i can update it to 1.2 for this fresh installation and it plays ok in 1.2 too. only the 1.3 patch doesn't work...it's kind of strange. Anyone has idea?

Did you try patching with a standalone download? You can try patching through SDC, or just uninstall the game and re-download through SDC which always has the latest version. So that way you'd get 1.03 and not have to worry about patching.

More likely it's the patch download that's bad, not the game. Try redownloading the patch, or using SDC as Annatar said.
