As soon as I run the game the screen goes black and a error window sound is heard.

Just installed Vista SP1 and 1.03. As soon as I click on play the game the screen goes black for a while and then the error sound is heard. I check it and its a minidump. This is a fresh install of 1.03 as well not an upgrade.

I checked my device drivers, updated with intel, tried again. Didnt work.

I tried it on a Vista non SP1 machine didnt work.

I tried that vista crash patch and it says not appicable in SP1 and doesnt do anything on the non SP1 machine.

I can get a screenshot but itll be of a pitch black screen :P(just kidding :D).

Do you have an old mod set to load on startup? 1.02 mods trying to load can sometimes do this.

Otherwise, is it actually a minidump or a C++ Runtime Error? If it is a minidump, send it to [email protected] ;)

I sent in the minidump. I was just hoping that someone had already seen this error. How do I change the mod settings? Could I download 1.02 somewhere? I remember that working.

You can just remove the mod folder (or move it elsewhere) so the game launches vanilla, and see if it works.

If you have 1.03 there is a mod folder in the user path.. but you don't have any mods it seems so that wouldn't be the issue. I guess just wait on that support email :P

Having the same problem. I get the opening screens but as soon as I start a game, it freezes, a error sound is heard and the minidump.

I've got a DELL XPS 710 with a 8800 GTX. Running Vista.

I tried deleting the mods folder, it did absolutely nothing.

Could I just find 1.02 to install and play because IMO this is ridiculous :(. I've tried everything except for disabling DEP. That shouldn't be an issue because SINS is vista compatible.
