Problem with entity file

Does not view properly in Notepad

Hey guys, im running a new computer with Windows Vista. Im trying to learn how to mod Sins and I tried to open a .entity file in notepad as directed, however the text appeared spaced out with a few unknown characters mixed in with it.

I talked to my friend about this, whom told me It would work in notepad if it didnt have some trailing bytes that mess it up.

Could someone clarify, and perhaps provide me with a solution to this problem?

the .entity files in which you can edit are packed in with the mod tools, all you do is edit then and then put them in the right directory. so... in essence, you were just trying to edit the wrong files. if you look around the mod tool package you should find editable files which work in note pad.
