A Look Back: The Works of Nuvem

Sometimes I like to go back through the archives of a gallery to see what people were uploading to the site "back in the day" and I'm discovering that, in some cases, that some things were better back in "the good old days".  Wallpapers being chief among them.  Well, more specifically, the wallpaper gallery back when Nuvem was still on the site.

It was Koop who turned me on to Nuvem's wallpapers back when I first joined Stardock two years ago.  His work is of such stunning quality, it's hard to imagine many people coming around now and topping it.  With his last wallpaper submission almost 4 years ago (April 24th, 2004), the wallpaper gallery, and the site, has definitely lost a killer artist.

With the recent return of APB maybe there's going to be a renesaunce  reinasaunce awakening of skinners from the past.   :CONGRAT:

Nuvem was top dog around these parts. I remember one comment someone made about his wallpaper Lost Souls: "This, my friend, belongs in an art museum, and you belong in an insane asylum!" Other Master Skinners here used to marvel at the quality of Nuvem's work, and wonder how the hell he was able to do it. His work has been the inspiration for a lot of really high-quality wallpapers here at WinCustomize. I hope we get a visit from him in the not too distant future!

Helder [Nuvem] moved on into other forms of graphic art....for which Devart was far more suited.

His imagery was 'insane'....and his artwork insanely good....;)

If you ever saw a high-res image of his....it'd knock your socks off....;)

Awesome wallpapers.

However, an artist will want to create art. Wallpapers are not a priority as such, but it would be nice if he could do a few of his artworks at wallpaper sizes ;)
