WB keeps changing Vista Scheme

From Aero to Standard. Please help!

I don't get why WB keeps doing this. I have it set to keep Visa Aero scheme in the advanced skin options, and to follow Vista UI guidelines. For a while any skin I apply works fine. Then suddenly I notice that the menus, ie in Photoshop, become that ugly blocky look. I check my scheme and discover that WB changes it from Aero to Standard for no reason. When I change it back to Aero, that messes with the whole skin. How can I stop WB from doing this? :/

Open the WindowBlinds Configuration screen and click on "System info" and then "Copy text". Paste that info here.

Just a little confused here, are you saying Vista Aero scheme? Is this a setting in WB or Vista? If in Vista then I think you maybe defeating the purpose of WB. I don't run Vista so I'm not sure what effect the settings you are doing has on the WB skin that you are trying to use.

Philly0381, what I'm referring to is the "Window Color and Appearance" setting in "Personalization". In my Appearance Settings, the Vista scheme keeps getting changed from Aero to Standard.

The effect this has on any WB skin I use means that menus go from the smooth/curved menus of the skin, for example...

...to blocky and ugly.

Does it have anything to do with me running Vista SP1 RC, and not the actual SP1?

That could be a possibility. There have been several posts in the forums about SP1 and it's different releases. You can find people that have no problems and others having them. I don't run Vista so I don't know how easy you can delete SP1 RC or even if you can to see if that solves the problem.

I take it everthing was working up to the point that you installed SP1?

I think before doing any uninstalling that you contact [email protected], they should be able to provide an answer. Remember it's the weekend so you can email them but you will probably have to wait until at least early next week for any response.  ;)

Thing is, I purchased OD (with WB) after SP1 was already on my machine, so I don't really have a baseline for comparison. In any case, right now I'm in the process of uninstalling the RC and installing the actual SP1. Just to eliminate some of the variables. In the meantime I'll take your suggestion and dig through the forums to see what people are saying about the SP1.

It's more than likely due to you using an RC which im guessing contains bugs (to be expected though). I've run x86/x64 and WB has no problems whatsoever with the final SP1, I never tried the RC builds because I couldn't be bothered with bugs and whatnot so I couldn't tell you for sure if that's the issue.
You also may want to update display drivers to the newest version if possible too, especially if you have an nvidia card.

Ok, I uninstalled the RC and installed the actual SP1. In the meantime while digging through the forums I ran across a thread discussing an issue with AGV antivirus, so I did what was suggested: uninstall WB, disable the Resident Shield, re-install WB and re-enable the shield.

Everything seems to have sorted itself out. WB works fine now, and properly switches the skins. Don't know which of the above fixed my issue though :)
