Start Menu Issue

exists on all skins...

Ok, I've been having this issue for a while, but I just now got around to reporting it.  Any idea how to fix it?

Below is a screenshot of my issue, (the shadow thingy that my cursor is pointing to) and the info from the WB page that is apparently useful.. :)

the startmenu shadow has not been turned off. it can be disabled in skin studio/starmenu/disable startmenu shadow.

I'm sorry kitty, I can't find what you're talking about... :/ Besides, this happens with EVERY skin... would I have to open EVERY skin I have in Skinstudio and edit each one? This has to be something in Windowblinds, not SKS....

Ok, I found that setting is Skinstudio, changed it, saved the skin, and rebooted... and it didn't change anything. So I don't think that was it.

I used to get that on occasion...usually went away on its own.It seemed to be affected by windows meu shadows being turned on.(which I think WBconfig used to turn off by default)

Yeah, I think the old WB config had a setting for that, but in the new WB config I can't find anything about start menu shadows...

I get that effect on occasion on XP with various skins. Normally only occurs when I open the start menu in front of a video that is playing. And usually goes away once I reopen the start menu.

and where exactly do I find that?

SYSTEM PROPERTIES>advanced>performance>settings.

I only found "show shadows behind menus" in that section... and unchecking it didn't help...

you know... I don't mean to start anything here, and I'm thankful for all the suggestions I've gotten from community members, but isn't this in the "Stardock Support" thread? It's been 5 days and there's not one post from a Stardock person yet... and I still can't figure out my issue. At the very least, if anyone from Stardock has even read this post, a quick note would be nice. Even if you have no idea how to fix it... just let me know at least...

I was having this issue with a blind I was making. No matter what I did, the shadow would not go away. I had to enable the shadow in SKS6 and then put the blind in SKS5 and disable it. That took care of it. I have not seen the problem since.
I realize that this is probably not the solution you were looking for, but if you have SKS5 and SKS6, give it a try and see what happens. I'm curious to see if it gets rid of the shadows on all your blinds or not. (My thinking is that some setting is 'stuck' somewhere.) I could be completely wrong..but what can it hurt?

RPG try unistall and do a clean up by deleteing the wb folder in program files. Backup your wb's first... Then reinstall again. Seems like there is one of those files that is not exactly the right date from what I have here. It may not of updated properly and has a conflict.
By chance did this start after you installed a certain wb maybe? Like when and what caused you to notice this happening?

SGT ;)

Xiandi, Shelby, I'll try both of your suggestions...

I don't really remember when it started, but for some reason I seem to think it started about the time of transparency showing up in WB...
