PC World: Technology Advice You Can TrustThis past weekend, PCWorld.com published a list of 101 Fantastic Freebies you can find online.  The article covers everything from Productivity tools to music, videos and photo services.  The freebies list includes both software and online services.

In the Desktop Customization category though, we snagged two of the nine spots with WindowBlinds and WinCustomize.  Also mentioned is WinMatrix, one of our favorite sites in the wider customization community.

A great app I snagged from there is xplorer2lite... a great replacement for the Windows offing with many more options/features. WWW Link

This version has some features disabled, but it's freeware and more than just handy. ;)

WB's a great app,but freeware ? pffft pull the other one last time i looked it was trialware,me thinks original article writer should become a politician.

I don't know how you consider Windowblinds a freebie. It is SHAREWARE - Look up the definitions. A "free download" doesn't constitute a "freebie", freeware, or anything of the likes. Is gas a freebie since you aren't being charged upfront to pump it?
I have to wonder how much Stardock paid for this little scratch on the back. It doesn't do much for your credibility.

Somebody wrote this in one of the comments to this article, Just because someone picks something and puts it on a list doesn't automatically mean the original company paid them to do it (idiot... :( ).
