How to set up a email object to check my emails

I need some help on getting an email object to check for emails without opening a program.

How do I configure this?

Whatever the object is, you'l have to enter your pop mail settings. Most likely if you click the object and select properties, you will see the mail config window. You'll need:

Your pop server address, usually in the format pop.server.com, or mail.server.com. Your user name and password. If it needs a server port number this is usually 110.
