Other Patch Versions

I don't like how 1.03 changes the game much. Is is there any
way I can get the other patches (1.01 and 1.02) legally from
anywhere? Also, if Ihave a different version, can I still join and
play on Iron Clad Online, as long as the other person has the
same version as me (and visa versa)?

If you have not archived a previous version via SDC, or did not save the old standalone patches, then you cannot revert to a version before 1.03 (unless you own the DVD, in which case you can reinstall to get back to 1.00).

I do not believe you can get on Ironclad Online unless you have version 1.03.

You can't get earlier patches (though I notice with 1.03 they've included a separate updater, so probably from now on you'll be able to just keep the installers for the previous versions).

However, ICO won't allow you to log on with an earlier version, gotta have the latest.

Thats dumb. I was hoping for some kind of dedicated server, so you wouldn't have to
worry about patch versions. Most of the changes I don't even really care about, or
would make myself if I was bored enough. Is there any way to bypass the patches to play
on ICO? Or even possibly bypassing ICO altogether?

Also, for this mod I'm working on (its just a for fun mod that makes everything
practically free and near instant build for everything), it worked just fine with
1.02, but when I updated (I had to remake it because of the new resource file
setup, which is also dumb), I seem to get more errors now then I ever did in the
first 10 seconds of the game. 1.03 causes more problems then it fixes.

Windows Vista all over again >_<

Much like Valve's Steam, you're pretty much forced into getting the update. My only suggestion is to find someone who took the time to keep the standalone patches.

I suspect the standalone patches will become a thing of the past, considering the last one ended up on the legal file download sites (Fileshack, etc.). Since they're only supposed to be for buyers of the game, I bet any future patches will only be available via SDC/Impulse.
