BSOD on Autorun

Every time I put in the disc or try to run the autorun after a restart I get a blue screen with "A Thread tried to release a resource it did not own".

I have tried installing in safe mode. I checked to be sure I had all windows updates, updated my video card drivers, updated my sound card drivers, installed Vista Service Pack 1, and updated my DVD drive firmware. I still get BSOD every time. This is not nearly the only game I have installed on here and this is the only time I've come across a problem like this. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I noticed that when I cancel the autorun and try to browse the disc I see no files.

Popped the DVD into my Laptop and everything shows up. Shared the DVD drive and mapped it as a network drive on my desktop. Now I'm installing it just fine. Is this some sort of copy protection gone wrong? Now for problem 2, playing the game when the files on the disc aren't going to be accesible in my PCs drive, unless this game doesn't have any disc checking...

There's no copy protection on the disc at all, but in rare cases some drives have had issues with the disc (mostly HDDVD/BRD hybrid drives). And no, there's no disc check either.
