Problem withe DVD Drive?

I bought the boxed copy of Sins, put it into the drive, and...

Nothing.  The drive does not see the disc.  I've tried many other discs, no problem, it sees them.  I put the Sins disc in my wife's laptop, it sees  the disc fine.  I've updated the firmware on the drive.  Still nothing.

The drive is an NEC ND 3550A combo drive, I'm running XP home, amd 2Gig, 2 gig ram, BFG 256k Geforce.  Anuone got any ideas?

Not sure on the drive - however you can register your cd key with SDC and simply download the game while you figure out what's up.

Some users have reported issues with certain drives seeing/reading the retail disc (which is rather odd considering the lack of any copy protection funkiness). Since the disc is not needed to play though, you can simply share the laptop's drive over the network or copy the files off the disc. Or you can also just register your serial and download the whole game via Stardock Central.
