Running Sins on a Mac?

I'm thinking of using Parallels

So I own a Mac laptop that runs games fairly well.  I'm thinking of purchasing Sins of a Solar Empire, and Parallels, which will let me run Windows XP (I already have a copy of XP just lying around).

So I was wondering:

Does anyone else do this?  Or have they heard of anyone doing this?  Does this work, or would Sins run extra-slow so that the gameplay would be compromised?

Thanks for your feedback

What type of laptop are you using? If its the macbook I would be hesitant about running this game on it. The integrated graphics card on the macbooks makes it really hard to play any games on them.

However if you are on a macbook pro, performance wise the game will run great...however, if you happen to be running on a 2.33ghz Macbook pro, with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and the x1600 graphics card the game has a severe graphic glitch that fills the backgrounds will random color patterns.

But if you have some other model of macbook pro you might be in luck. I have read forum posts at www.insidemacgames.com about people running this game just fine on their macbook pro's.

Then again if you are running XP instead of vista who knows. Some games do have weird issues with bootcamp and windows. Such as Everquest II will not run on the previously mentioned macbook pro with XP installed, but runs fine on the same laptop with Vista. I think there is a demo out now so you might want to try that out, or if you have a friend who has it, might be worth borrowing it from him and give it a try first before buying it.
