Inertia

A thought

I thought of a awsome look to see happen in sins, how about the look of intertia during battle, this is all frigates, cruisers and capital ships allways are moving in the midst of battle, giving the space effect which what you would really expect in outer space. So the look would be all fighting ships would be moving at their set speeds engaging enemy ships abroad from each other as they pass. Its a thought i would like to get out there for anyone who like the idea and havnt thought about it.....but probally has :)

If logical complications occur with anyone interested in doing this give me a shout, i could assist.

I would imagine most ships were advanced enough to have full reaction control systems on them. Using their attitude jets to slow/correct their movement when needed.

It would probably make a mess of things when push comes to shove, lots of unnecessary physics calculations and would make a phase jump nie impossible due to the constant movement.

I'm thinking getting every ship to be not moving relative to the planet they are orbitting would be pretty much impossible. As technically every ship is changing its speed all over the place to make them look the way they are now, and certainly isn't the most efficient way to have ships in orbit.

Imagine the fuel costs! They would have to be powering the engines constantly. D:

However, it would be one hell of a pain in the arse to deal with ships constantly floating off all over the show as they constantly orbit the planet or move off due to being all in different inertial frames. So keeping it the way it is would likely be best. :p
