Poll Results: Wallpaper Moderation

So conflicted

Last week's poll resulted in a very spirited and interesting debate over the future of wallpaper moderation on WinCustomize.  What was once a topic that would get people seeing red and foaming at the mouth, we had perhaps one of the most thoughtful and constructive discussions regarding site policy that I can remember.  The discussion was actually much more interesting and helpful than the poll results themselves.

Go here to read the full discussion.

For the poll results, here's the graph...

Nearly half of you who voted wanted to see WC return to the super-strict moderation of yester-year where we out-right rejected all but the absolute best of the best.  A quarter of you said things are good the way it is, and the rest of you were pretty evenly split on whether to be more or less strict.

The discussion is more likely to influence future changes than the poll itself.  I was actually discussing this issue with Brad last week, and there are plans for specifically revitalizing this gallery in a way that benefits both users and artists.  Should be interesting when we get to implementing it.

Considering 54% want, in essence the old way (old way + allow less) I should think that would be the valid basis for the decision. I've read some of the discussion but to the numbers from the discussion match the poll?

Heck, if I only knew what your moderation policy even was. I asked a question concerning it and a submission I made to Zoomba via email and I PM'd him, no answer. Is he even here anymore? :NOTSURE:
