'Actually HAL, I can do that' doesn't register

I've just won a single player game against 5 hard AI players on Entanglement and the 'Actually HAL, I can do that' achievenent (beat 4 or more hard AIs by yourself) hasn't registered for some reason. I had one or two cease fires and brief trade alliances during the game, but nothing more than that - so I'm pretty sure I should have qualified for it. Is this a bug, or is there something I'm missing?

Cease fires likely count against you.

That seems like a bit of a flaw - especially considering how long it can take to finish a match like that. Perhaps a bit of clarification would help with achievements like this one?
