Thinking of purchasing WB and joining wincustomize

I have a new tablet PC (12.1" Lenovo T7700 1.8Ghz, 4gb ram)  that I will be using to take notes in school.  So there is a little show off factor I want to have.  I don't want it to look like just plain XP tablet.  So I started looking at different themes.  In the past the themes were so lame that I have not even thought about them since windows 95.  However, I was surprised at how cool some these themes are (amazing how things can change in a decade).

My questions are:

does windowblinds hinder performance significantly or at all?

Does this make the system unstable at all?  I read a few posts of that happening because it changes some system files over time.  All of these posts were in reference to an older version.

Will this hinder performance if I am not using a blinds required theme?  So when I do music production at home (which is processor intensive, crazy-style) and I switch back to an XP non-theme will Blinds still run in the background?  Can I turn it on and off?

WB has a small foot print and the new design actually runs better than the default GUI.

you can turn WB off at any time and it just reverts back to the default look. you can also set WB exclusions for programs you wish not to skin. So if you find a program that WB disagrees with,you can instruct WB to never skin that program.


AS for stability? I haven't had A WB related problem in years.

I use WB with my tablet with no issues.
And if you might be usin your tablet as a secondary PC at your house, be sure to look at Multiplicity.  It makes using a tablet a dream.

I am running it on 256MB of memory and it makes no hindrance with my graphic programs and games.

You did say you use the tablet to take notes in school, right? Everyone will want to see it, try it out, and probably want to steal your tablet.  ;)
