Moving fleets

right-click doesn't work for long distances

Hi,

Newbie question, great game, having a blast. At the beginning when moving colony ships and constructors long distances I can simply right-click anywhere on the map and the unit will move to that location, often over many many turns.

Later in the game, after I have built a few fleets, the fleet itself refuses to let me right-click to send it a long distance., I can only move the fleet a couple of tiles at a time. Takes a lot of micromanagment to send the fleet across the map.

A range problem, maybe? Do all ships in the fleet have range modules? If you try to move a ship or fleet further than they have range, they won't do it and a popup telling so should come up.

This sounds like the 1.8e fleet movement bug to me. Try using this and then update DA.

If this isn't the 1.8e fleet movement bug, I have no idea.

And yes, the .reg file is safe-feel free to open it in Notepad/etc or run it through your favorite virus scanner.

Hi all!

i've had this problem too - only just started playing DA (v1.80g) - had no problem with fleets 'til i upgraded. has nothin to do with range - cant even move fighter fleets between two planets around the same star, you can only move them 1 turn at a time or they refuse to budge. though i have to admit i have only played campaign at this stage - for all i know it may work fine in regular games..
