Visual C++ Runtime Library error

How to fix?

Hello.
I have a serious problem with my copy of the game: After X minutes (different every time), the game shuts down with the error message:
"Visual C++ Runtime Library

The application wished to be terminated in an unusual way"

Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this error?
I do know that the time I can play the game before it crashes was lengthened when I uninstalled DAEMON tools.

My specs are:

HP Pavillion dv6540eo
Windows Vista Home Premium
AMD Turion64 x2 TL-56
nVidia GeForce 8400M graphics
2048 MB RAM

Can't pinpoint what your problem is, but I've been running the game since beta with D-tools installed and it's never given me trouble, also on Vista Home Premium.

I have this problem too, when I was playing Sins in Windows XP it was fine, but in Windows Vista Home Premium it just gives me the C++ Runtime error.

After searching the forums I figured this is a mostly common issue, and none of the suggestions helped, i.e.: the windows KB update, and turning graphics down from highest to high (cannot load the game to do that!)

No idea what to do.
