how to travel to other solar systems

i am trying the really big multi system map but i cant go to other systems, huge map with 4 systems and all 8 players are pushed into only 2 of them. i have played where it just happened, i could go from star to star but its not letting me now. i have explored all planetsin my system. can someone please tell me the requirements to go to other systems?

Do you have the proper research? For TEC its called Long Range Jumps, for Advent its Distant Visualization and for Vasari its also Long Range Jumps

I had this problem as well when I first started. After you research "Long Range Jumps" simply select your fleet then (I think) right click the star you want to travel to. The ships automatically seak the interstellar link (that you cannot see) and travel there.
