In which we enter the Land of Blog.
I was totally unprepared to have to enter a
"welcome message." Here I am, blindly poking around, trying to figure
out what to do and how this all works, and -=*BOOM*=- they
expect me to enter a welcome message. I'm lucky I remember how to
type at this point. Oh well, here goes.

How pretentious is the appellation Blogosphere? I can hear Shatner hacking up an aphorism now...

No, come back, I promise no more cheap SF references!!
END UNCHEDULED DIGRESSION
"Okay, what's going on here?" you ask. I
intend this spot to be a place I can spew out all those random
thoughts that don't seem to fit anywhere else -- thoughts that aren't
long enough for articles (et cetera), stuff that's too topical to be
of interest by the time I disseminated it elsewhere, stuff that's not
developed enough but someday may be, that kind of stuff. I hope to be
humorous, informative, maybe infuriating, but hopefully not (too)
boring.
So that's it. That's what we're doing here.
No biggie.
