I am forever looking for something that sounds different than the music I've gotten so sick of hearing on the radio (preferrably different and good). So when Rolling Stone magazine used this very word to describe the Scissor Sisters, I perked right up, downloaded some sample songs, and treated myself to a new CD.
How fun! They are often compared to 1970s Elton John, but I find them more 1970s disco with some Robbie Williams mixed in for good measure.
Even better, three weeks later they're scheduled to do a concert at a local hall - a nice intimate setting at a low price. I grabbed my best girl friend and off we went.
Oh my, my, how even more fun! The music sounded amazing, and the band are true performers. And let's face facts: Jake Shears is hot. If any fans read this, I can't encourage you enough to Go See This Show. You may not get the chance again. The way I see it, this band's so hot, they're either going to blow up or burn out.
