A well trained dog would be very handy.

The monkey (if rabid) could cause major health problems, and i couldn't bear the site of having him put down after i 'accidently' unleash him on the script writers of our friendly 6pm TV soap, Neighbours

I actually think you could get a government grant to perform such an act... I wanted to purchase a Monkey when I was in Paris for a reason very similar to yours, alas, our government does not allow animals who will do our maliscious bidding as domesticated pets... We should have a petition of sorts port forward to our government.
