COSMOPOLITAN-September 2004
Cosmopolitan is the most sucessful womens magazine in Australia. Each month it contains the lastest fashion and beauty trends, celebrity gossip and real life stories. The cover must encapsulate these aspects as well as appeal tastefully to its target audience which range roughly from 18 to 28 year old women.
The cover of September Cosmopolitan is fashioned with three main colours complimenting the cover models outfit-pink, purple and white. These colours are feminie and bold which instantly draw attention to the magazine. visually stimulating. celebrities who are well known also communicate a sense of wanting to know more... CONSISTENCY
The featured sub-headings indicate story headlines that will be found inside the magazine. These titles are written in a variety of three different fonts and appear in the three September colours. As the reader I begin reading the headings vertically downwards though my eyes wander to the headings written in a larger font or a brighter colour. SYMMETRY, READABILITY, SEQUENCE ranging from bold to an range of fonts The language "A consideration of the relationship between the reader and the writer influences how personal the language is"- (brown et al p.57) appropriate because...summary of content The word "Cosmopolitan" itself features...LOGO
