The town of Battle Mountain, Nevada, located 220 miles east of Reno knows how to take bad press and spin it in their favor.
A December 2001 Washington Post piece designated this burg, "the armpit of America", and the community, in response, began an annual armpit festival, sponsored by Old Spice. I features events such as a wet tshirt contest, armpit beauty contests (hhruhh? --ed), and boxing matches in a celebration that draws about 1500 people annually.
No word on whether they feature an armpit playing band. I myself could accompany them in such an endeavour.
A final thought: wonder if they've contacted Brad PITT about grand marshalling their parade?
