Chocolate is a Food Group?
It is when you live in a house with 5 females

Having five females in the house (one wife, four daughters), has led me to the conclusion that there are some food differences that us males with the "Y" chromosome just don't have. Of particular instance to me is my two year old, who, I have recently discpvered, can actually hear a slice of cheese being unwrapped from two rooms away (I'm actually not kidding here!).
The thing that really stands out about the five females in my house is: the whole stereotype about women and chocolate...is NOT a myth. If I bring home anything resembling chocolate or containing chocolate as a core ingredient, the "chocolate radar" goes off as soon as the car pulls in through the gate. Like Pavlov's dog to the bell, they scramble to possess, to devour whatever chocolate delight I have brought home. Chocolate is their passion. It is my friend when I have committed some infraction, real or imagined, and must make up for it. A one pound bar of Ghirardelli's, and I'm back off the couch until I mess up again.
I am seriously considering buying stock in Hershey's.

I don't really like chocolate with fruit or nuts - I like caramel, but I prefer it in it's purer form. And dark chocolate is healthier, it contains more antioxidants than milk chocolate (the proteins in the milk bind with the antioxidants to create a different protein, therefore negating the heath benefits). What you're experiencing sounds kind of... problematic. Try eating the chocolate in the car on the way home... no, they'll smell it on you. Can you eat at work, brush your teeth, and no one will be any the wiser? There are sneaky ways around these things
