I'm in seventh heaven

Today, I am pleased to report that a brand spanking new Sonic drive in opened in our community.
For the uninitiated, Sonic's food is the best of the worst; it's coney cheese dogs are to die for, and probably the only way that I will eat the compilation of pig lips and bovine rectums willingly outside of a major league ballpark or an appearance on "Fear Factor". I have many fond memories from high school of Sonic, as there was one three blocks from school.
That being said, i have not lived anywhere near a Sonic in 12 years.
Three years ago, on a trip to a bluegrass festival in North Carolina, I informed my wife we were stopping at the first Sonic we came near. Unfortunately, our entire trip did not take us reasonably close to a Sonic, with the notable exception of one we passed going into Winston-Salem just as we were approaching a friend's house for dinner.
So, while I am ecstatic, I am anxious. Could it be that years of Wisconsin cuisine have altered my taste buds to the point where Sonic's food will no longer have appeal? Well, I'm bringing home dinner for the kids from Sonic tomorrow, and I will give you the update.

I love their Cheddar Peppers and a number 2 burger minus the patty really hits the spot. And what's not to love about a giganitic Cherry Vanilla Coke (Diet if I'm being good that day). Unfortunately, Sonic does not exist here in paradise. Oh, they tease with commercials designed for their west coast market, but at then of the day, it's all a big tease and nothing more. I miss Sonic more than I miss some of my family members. I hope you still find it mighty tasty!
