I'm just me

like it or leave it

I guess I should provide a little background about me in case any one feels compelled to learn more about yours truly. I am a 23 year old female graduate student at Wake Forest University, in North Carolina. I'm studying psychology and I'm interested in just about anything that deals with the human experience. I'm espeicially interested in religion, politics, dreams and morals. Outside of the nerdy academic stuff, I love football (go Buffalo Bills!!), outdoorsy stuff like hiking and camping, spending lazy days at the beach and reading. Ok, so that is still kinda nerdy, but what can I say!

I love to chat and I love to get different opinions and points of view. You can never be over informed or too learned!

And just for the record not everyone from the south talks like a hick and goes to their senior prom with their cousin, who also happens to be their uncle. I'm actually originally from NY state, hence the Buffalo Bills fanaticism. And yes I will talk about the 4 superbowls, but I don't promise to be very lady like about it!! And I wasn't related to my prom date!

I'm also a quote fanatic so here is one of my favorite funny quotes: "The very existence of flame throwers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done!"--George Carlin

Hey Jenna--I did my undergrad at Wake! I haven't been back since graduation--but I'm sure it hasn't changed all that much--betcha the lower Quad still floods every time it rains!

Welcome. I too am a quote fanatic, and I post a daily Quote of the Day article to share my collection with the JU community.

Not that there is anything wrong with talking like a hick. Some of my best friends are serious rednecks and they also happen to be among the best and most intelligent engineers I know. But I still give them crap about their speach patterns.

I'll admit, I do throw the ya'll in every now and again and believe me, my family gives me heck about it. I love the south (a heck of a lot warmer compared to NY), but I know the stereotypes that are out there. I was hoping to make light of them by giving an exaggerated example. I have met plenty of intelligent people with thick, southern drawls!

If you like quotes, you should read Khalil Gibran. He is an excellent poet/writer!
