No one told me what to expect!

I am starting this blog because of my frustraions and lack of understanding see about two years ago my daughter Mary was diagnosed with several thing
the first is ADHD,the secound is OCD and then theres a mood disorder (not otherwise speicified) and finally ODD (oppositional Defiant Disorder)
I knew what to expect with the first 3 diagnoses because I have several people in my family with these problems.....after all if anyone had met mary as a little baby you would have known she was quite a unique little girl (ill explain later) but when the doctor said ODD i had now clue what he was talking about he did his best to explain to me that it is a Psychiatric Disorder that is characterized by two diffrent sets of problems. the first being Aggressiveness and the secound is a tendency to purposefully bother and irritate others, at first I was like No big deal you just tell the child no and send them to their room right? NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!
ill continue to explain more about my little devil angel in this blog as it goes on and i may even vent a little from time to time
i dont spend alot of time on the net these day and as you read youll find out why i am so busy so bare with me if you want to learn more about this and mary and maybe find out how you can help a family with a child like mary or your own child and family

I admire how patient and loving you are with Mary.You are doing all the right things.I understand what you are going through.A lot of the things you were talking about were very familiar to me.I just found out recenly ,my daughter has odd.As a child,she was aggressive with her brother.She has gotten better with age,"Thank God".I did have to go through a lot,to get this far.She is 12 now.She takes "tegratol,which she just started taking.Don't give up!You are doing everything you can.Believe me your children deserve the best life you can give them.Thank you for the info on odd,it is really insightful.Brenda
