Government Oppression on the Left Coast

Not really, just legal enforcement

Well, looks like a lot of people are up in arms over government oppression in California. So how are government officials oppressing people this time? Well, they are enforcing the law; immigration law that is.

In a recent article in the Modesto Bee, Mario Villareal, a spokesman for the Border Patrol, said that rumors of raids in the San Joaquin Valley are "absolutely false."

Despite official statements, illegal immigrants fearing deportation remain unconvinced.

It almost seems like the Border Patrol is apologetic here. Wow, ILLEGAL immigrants are worried about Border Patrol raids. And in other news, bank robbers are concerned about the possibility that the police may arrest them.

Well, at least the illegals at the mine where I used to work are safe; the INS has no interest in going after them.

the INS has no interest in going after them.

Why is that?

No idea...I reported the situations at the mine to both the INS and ATF (the latter was because of non-US citizens handling large explosives), and neither acted on the complaints.

Maybe it was too much of a drive. This was in the desert, yes?

Yes; however, if we allow the illegals to live in the desert without trying to stop them, then there's really no point to immigration laws, is there?

I'm not saying illegals in the desert should stay. I'm saying we need INS agents and Border Patrol that are both willing and enabled to enforce our laws.
