Looking for tips.

At the moment I am finding it hard work getting started in this game and wondered if anyone has any tips. My main problem is with social projects. at the moment I find I am so short of cash that end up not building any social projects except for those that are free maintainance or give an economy bonus. Does this make sense or am I missing something ?

They have a large number of excellent posts on various sized galaxies. Yes, the tactics and strategy are different.

There's also a Strategies forum here on the GalCiv site... just look to your left, you should see a link to it along with the Mod forum. Since those references should be enough, I won't go into detail, but I think you're missing something, since I consistently build most every social improvement in the game on most every planet in my empire, and still make money. :)

Sorry Jim, I know this is probably a stupid question, but what exactly was that link that you just mentioned? I tried to put comp.sys.pc.ibm.games.strategic in as a URL and got nothing. I also tried it with a www and a .com on the end.
