Elements of cuteness

and why guys don't like most cute things

A long time ago I was pondering the nature of "cute", probably in response to some woman asking me why guys don't generally like things that women call cute. (As opposed to cute women, which we generally like quite a bit.) I came up with five key characteristics of cuteness:

1) Short or Small.
2) Round.
3) Fuzzy or Soft.
4) Large-eyed.
5) High-pitched voice.

Now you can still be cute without having ALL of these characteristics, but having the opposite of a characteristic will absolutely kill your cute factor. You're not cute if you have tiny little piggish eyes. You're not cute if you tower over your surroundings. And you're not cute if you're sharp and angular.

But the answer to my friend's question, why don't guys like most cute things? Very simple: Cute things are Harmless. And harmless things are boring.

Hmmm.. I am short.... and somewhat round... Oooo I'm soft AND fuzzy!!! (Picture 1/2 chewbacca!)

But I'm not large eyed, and only talk in a high-pitched voice if kicked in a bad place....

But crazily enough the list is basically right on And I must admit.. harmless things are kinda boring.....

You got it backwards, Sally... guys don't like boring things. Cute things are boring. (Except for cute women.)

Some guys, like me, find cute to be very sexy. But only where women are concerned. In most cases cute is boring.

I'm all of the list, except I'm not really round....*sigh* I don't think men see cute as sexy, they see it as something they can wrap up and look after, grr! Hehe! Sorry Citahellion, women are exceptional, now I see
