I grew up in the 60's and came of age in the 70's, and I watched in amazement at the actions of those around me.
I couldn't believe how naive so many of my contemporaries were - teenagers thinking they knew how to run a country better than adults. I asked them why they supported various positions, and usually I found that they couldn't articulate any reasons other than repeating verbatim what they read or heard others say. If they were asked anything outside the "party line", they were at a loss to come up with anything that required any knowledge of their "positions" Over and over again, I shook my head and formed my own opinions.
Although my home was in now way overtly political - I can't remember ever hearing my parents talk politics of any kind - from the time I was able to begin reasoning and forming opinions, I always seemed to fall in the conservative camp. Throughout the years, I have not only stayed there, I have become more and more convinced that I have made the correct choice and am home where I belong.
This blog will contain thoughts I have on various issues of the day, and opinions I have regarding them. Your comments are welcome!
