Could a minimap of some sort be on the main Planet Screen?

This might be tricky to add, but somehow getting a geographic sense of WHERE the star is in my empire would help a lot in deciding what to build there. being able to see a minimap of the galaxy during that screen would help me a lot.

The screen real estate is limited, I know, on that screen, but even a tiny map would help. As it is I find myself having to switch back and forth bewteen the sector map- I can't run through my list of stars and make quick changes to what they're building as I can't always rmeember where the freaking thing is located all the time (too many stars too little brain).

No biggee if impossible or too much work to implement.

As for a mini map. There is one in the upper right. But it is hard to remember exactly where what star is. I ussually make extensive use of F1 - F4. I keep my left hand on them most of the game time.

A keyboard toggle to next planet, next ship without auto move, would be good.

Also or being able to assign plantes or ships to keys 1-9.

It's not a killer problem at all... jsut a convenience, let me be more efficient thing. I try to name my stars meaningfully so I can remember where they are for now.

You should try naming them by location. "Upper-left-most Star", for instance. ;)

Also, you realize you can change production queues from the planet list sidebar? Just click once on the queue you want to alter, and you can replace the item.

"next ship without auto move"

That's what the "Find" button is for. :)

All that aside, I wouldn't mind a planetary minimap, either.

That kind of sucks having to do that... I like the ambiance of naming the stars on a thematic system and directional isn't one of those.

By the way, I've never met an E-Tigger before. Are you the only one?

It's actually pretty easy to navigate when you're on the F2 planets screen if you use the tactical display for the left hand (main area) as you'll get to see the whole map and can run down your planets pretty easily there. Single-click on a planet in the right-side list and it'll highlight it on the map for you and then you can just change production without ever having to bring up the full screen planet view.

Since you can do most normal tasks from the planet list and the tactical view, about the only time I ever bring up the full planet detail screen is if I want to change propoganda levels or purchase something straight-out.

Asharak,

Thanks! I didn't know about clicking on the items- I tried clicking there I thought already- will try again- playing the non-windowed version if that matters.

Ash,
Find just buzzes most of the time, I can't detect any differance from TAB. A key to cycle to the next ship whether it need to be moved or not, and yet not exicute its programed moves yet if it has any left, would be very useful for those of us who want to micromanage as battles grow close.
