Cursor FX Plus

My wife plays a lot of games from MSN (zone.msn.com). When the game loads, if Cursor FX Plus is running, the mouse isn't visible. In essence, Cursor FX won't work with most any of those games.
I really like the mouse cursors and effects that are available with Cursor FX Plus and this is a real shame.

Just a follow up...I finally just had to uninstall this from Vista Ultimate. Random problems with changing themes (sometimes required a restart as nothing happened when i changed themes.)Sometimes it would do some really weird things (odd sounds and problems with effects.) For the brief time that it ran, it looked awesome. Hopefully the bugs will get fixed soon.

Specifics from users having issues would lead to the bugs getting fixed sooner. :)
The more info the better, OS, other software running, Computer specifics etc.

Are you on the current 2.00.004 version of FX?

As far as OS, as i mentioned, it is Vista Ultimate. I disabled as many apps as i could so really nothing else that i can think of that was running at the time would've caused the problems. I was running the latest release version of FX plus.(2.00.004) One game that i know for sure with problems was "Farm Frenzy". The cursor wouldn't appear at all with that one. Also, there were issues with the cursor dissapearing with an app called rocket dock.
Additionally, FX crashed badly once, which required a reboot. That was when i uninstalled it. I wasn't sure at all what caused that.
On a few occasions, when i tried switching themes, the themes wouldn't switch. Basically, it's as though nothing at all happened.
I am running nVidia Geforce 8800 gts graphics card 320 mb, Intel core 2 cpu 6700 @2.67 ghz.
I hope this helps....

Yeah, from what I've heard and experienced, cursor FX is really buggy. I used the free version to try it out, because it had all the stuff I needed, i never use the trails. Went to load a new awesome theme and....and....and.....AND NOTHING HAPPENED!!! :( I know it's free but there's definately no ways cursorFX won't let you add new themes even from the free version. Unless you have Vista, just download the old version and save yourself a headache.

Same thing happened to me until I rebooted the system, then CFX would load & apply cursor sets without any problem and install new themes without a hitch.

The update to be released in the next day or two should take care of all those headaches. Be sure to uninstall, reboot, and reboot again after re-installing the new CFX version.

Hello, I have one question about doing a clean install via SDC. :p

When opening up SDC it will go snag the updated app when it's released and automatically install it on top of the old version. I did this with WB6 and other SD apps. If I want a clean install, then I have to uninstall the new updated version (the one I just downloaded) in SDC, run regmechanic to clean out the leftover reg entries, reboot, and reinstall the same updated app I just installed/uninstalled via SDC.

What I'm getting at is that SDC downloads a new version of an app, and installs the upgrade over the previous version without uninstalling the old version first. Because of the way SDC updates programs I think the only way to do a clean install of SD apps via SDC is to follow the steps I just mentioned above. Any ideas how to do an easier clean install of SD apps via SDC? Hmmm... :)

Good night, f

why not 1 download since you're gonna uninstall? uninstall, reboot, then download and install or right click and archive > download and archive, then restore the archive

I tried the reboot---install---reboot technique and it seems to have fixed many problems. At least enough so that I can run it. The problem with the Rocket Dock app was the same as what is being reported about the standard mouse cursor returning in the drop down menus etc. I just uninstalled Rocket Dock and went back to Object Dock Plus. I like OD+ better anyhow. The problem with the game ("Farm Frenzy") is still there though. No biggie for me. (My wife may disagree.....)
Other than the standard mouse cursor issue thing, i think it is working o.k. I don't see any way to add sounds though.....but i'll be patient.....

Thanks Bichur. Got it. If I fire up SDC and it says there is an update, click update, later. Then, uninstall the old version. Reboot. Fire up SDC again, download and install the updated version. :CONGRAT:

Some full screen applications seem to mess with CursorFX though a quick toggle seems to fix that.
