Trouble with 1A startup process

I've been using Objectdock for about 2 years now, with relatively little problem (one of my docks which is set to act as a system tray will frequently not load, and reloading Objectdock does not help, I have to restart Windows if I really want it, and then hope that it loads).

In the past couple of days, however, I have run into an issue with loading the Objectdock process called 1A at Windows startup. Whenever Windows loads, it asks me which application I want to use to open 1A. I have done some research and know that 1A refers to "trayserver.exe" which monitors the icons on Objectdock, so, using Startup Control Panel, I attempted to direct the startup entry for 1A to the trayserver.exe file. I still get the same result. Also, everytime I try to remove 1A from the startup processes within Startup Control Panel, it instantly reappears! So today I uninstalled Objectdock (which wouldn't work from Windows add/remove programs list, I had to find the "unwise" manually), and then ran CCCleaner to clean my registry, and rebooted Windows, and the same issue is still occurring.

Does anyone know how I can get 1A to stop insisting on starting with Windows, or how I can repair the problem because I really love object dock, and do not relish the idea of going back to the windows taskbar, nor of completely cleaning my hard drive and reinstalling everything!

Thanks,
Craig

What build of OD?
How did you determine that 1A was related to OD (trayserver.exe)?

What changed right before this started happening?

I am using Object Dock 1.30 Plus
Build 526u

I have been to many sites such as these two:
http://startup.networktechs.com/srch-1A:Stardock%20TrayMonitor.html
http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/trayserver
which point to objectdock/stardock being the origin of the program.

I believe that I had been paring down on some unnecessary windows services right before this happened, but I cannot think of one that would have caused this behavior.

Was sdmcp.exe one of'em? :) It's required for the tray to work in that version.

I'd suggest upgrading to version 1.9

I can't get rid of this process trying to open even with 1.30 uninstalled! Why would I want to load another version? Yes, sdmcp.exe is a process that objectdock uses, but I don't seem to be having trouble with that one.

I just went through and set almost all windows services to manual, rebooted, no change, so that's not the culprit.

You could put in a case to stardock (email [email protected])
Other than that  . . no help.
