Tax evasion

We all know that if you run out of money ,your people dont like you, and production screeches to a halt. But I wonder how does the A.I stay afloat, when they usally make the most ships. Has any bosy seen a A.I on this game go bankrupt?

If you keep an eye on the graphs you can usually see where the AI will bounce off of the -500 shutdown point at certain points in the game. You can also see them do major cutbacks to research and production for a few turns in what I assume is an attempt not to shutdown totally. Depends on what difficulty your on,but they will usually have trouble at some point within the first couple of years. Even after they get stable they run their econ pretty tight, so some strategic attacks and spying can throw them back into the red when you want to screw with them. :)
