It just failed at 50% here, running Vista Ultimate... will try again and see what happens.

Failed again at 50%... can't copy and paste the notice, but it said something about access being denied to the activate exe file.

For anyone using Vista needing a fix...turn of UAC and reboot> run SDC> update WB and reboot> turn on UAC :)

Correction. Kill UAC permanently. (Sorry, Starkers  ) I installed the patch fine on XP... Restarted PC to test whether it slowed down boot-time, which it didn't, but I did get a "Windows Explorer illegal operation" or some such two reboots in a row, so I killed power completely and the PC booted fine (and I've rebooted a couple of times just to test, and it's still fine). Don't know if I've updated on the Vista machine yet...

Running SDC as admin might work too in Vista.

Funny you guys are discussing this as I just started a ticket with Stardock Help & support. I cannot update WB6 or Skin Studio from SDC. It stops at 50% with an Invalid download message something about error 29. I run Vista Home Premium.

WB6 Update

Thanks Zubaz. Do you interpret that to mean that if I wait till the end of the day the updates will work without the reinstall of SDC?

I think that you'll need to update SDC and then WB in any case.  But at least it's a known incident and problem and a fix is in the works.

I never thought of that... oh well, 'twas another excuse to use Stardock's 'TweakVista' to tinker with Vista's settings. ;)

Go to control panel/user accounts/turn user accounts control on or off uncheck (UAC) This might help..

I received an answer from Stardock about an hour ago. Sent me 2 links...one to remove some files from SDC and one to reinstall SDC. The two updates were then downloaded without any problems and WB6 seems to working OK at this point.

I too am still having these update problems. Launched SDC today but no update for it and it still won't update to the newest WB6 release. Have the same problem with Sound Packager. How can I get the SDC update or Duke, is it possible for you to post the links you were given????

Hope I don't get a double post here. For some reason my first didn't go through.
I'm still having the same problems with updates. I went to the link Zubaz posted yet as of a few minutes ago I'm still not getting an SDC update. Any chance of getting those 2 links from you Duke, or is it only for Vista.

Wouldn't you know it. The minute I posted this the other one shows up...go figure???????
