The GUI

a 'must' for all skinners......

Graphical User Interfaces.......

It's what we're all about....and this site has them 'all' from Amiga to Xerox Star.

http://www.guidebookgallery.org/guis

What's equally interesting are the 'splashes', etc....images that pop up when a proggy loads...ther's lots on this site too....EG Winamp and the Llama's ass....;)

Every skinner NEEDS to take a wander through that site....see how primitive it all 'was'....and how we're 'getting it right' now....;)

[Site images didn't want to paste/link here nicely so....just hop over there]...;)

Enjoyed that little trip down memory lane. I'm probably one of few here who used GEOS/Geo Works. It was okay but couldn't compete with Microsoft even back then.

“Our engineers were quite impressed with the processing speed of the Tandy 2000’s 80186 microprocessor, too."

Wonder if Bill Gates remembers saying that.....

Yeah thats nice n all, but many of the timelines are making it quite incomplete, missing complete versions of OS's leaving big gaps, i wouldnt rely on that site for accuracy :)

But as a general reference for skinners im sure it can be quite handy, altho once again many of the screenshots are incomplete aswell :)
