This is a qualitywise a top notch skin an all props go the the maker but I fail to see how Stardock-Design wants to impress anyone in the critical outside world with things people have done to death before : Doing color variations of Aero with a slightly changed start-orb and taskbar ? No bad blood, just a critical thought.

Excellent skin.  Not flashy, professional.

I heard some of the hype beforehand and I guess I was expecting something special like Magic or Winter Wonderland or Sirus or Slider. I share some of Carl's thoughts. I guess we've been spoilt with those four suites and another version of Aero with a tacky woody look is hardly innovative, fresh or appealing nor, IMHO, is it a good use of a Master skinners time and effort. 2008 is a potentially big year for Stardock and I know there is an 'appetite' to feed when it comes to free skins but this is hardly going to impress many people. We all know who made this skin and his talents are much greater than this  ;)

Leo, not all skins appeal to all people. And who are you to tell a Master how to spend his time and effort?!

I'm happy have been playing around with a wood look for last couple of days so this blind was perfect timing for me. Looks good on pc(xp) and laptop(vista) which had just got around to installing blinds onto. So thanks .:CONGRAT:

Just because a skin looks simple does not mean that it is.
Wood grain done right is hard.
Skinning so completely in Vista is hard.

Tastes vary, but this will always be an excellent skin.

messiah1, it's called an opinion. We all have them and can use them, whether YOU like it or not ;)

I know what an opinion is and that everyone is entitled to it. I've no hard feelings toward you. Good day.

To comment again on this. VStyler...this will...for me at least...be one of those skins that will always reside on my PC. I have downloaded tons of skins...and not many actually get to stay in my WindowBlinds folder...but this is one of those that will. ;) I think you did an excellent job on this Aero look...I have yet to find anything about this skin that I don't like. The best wood themed skin I have seen yet...Aero or not! :CONGRAT:

I know what an opinion is and that everyone is entitled to it. But you don't have the right to tell anyone how to spend their time...PERIOD. Where are your skins by the way?

Did I TELL anyone how to spend their time?  ;) Read it again. There is no disrespect. It is just a simple opinion that obviously you don't like. I don't see why you are so defensive or perhaps I do, but that's another story. As for your last comment, what difference does that make? Very strange comment  ;)

The problem is you will never make everyone happy.  I get complaints all the time that people want different versions of Aero, but when someone does one, someone complains they want something different.

This is a beautiful skin and I know a lot of hard work was put into it.

And from me, John, there is no disrespect meant. With my comments I was just 'challenging' the direction that Stardock are going with some of the 'free skins'. I like to 'challenge' from time to time as sometimes it gives 'food for thought' and opens other doors and thoughts which lead onto greater things. The skin you have made is quality, if not quite my taste. When it comes to your OWN designs you are always pushing the envelope when it comes to innovation, appeal and sheer quality. I know I speak for many people, like myself, who enjoy your work.  :)
