DX and animated Gifs

Is there a way to import a Animated gif into DX?

I am using Beneton Movie Gif.

Dx does not support Gif files.

Can't be done. I'm not sure but, wonder if this has to do with GIF licensing?

Google Bitstrip. It's an old program that converts a gif animation into a horizontal or vertical bitmap strip. Then edit it in an image editor & save as a png.

if you can't find Bitstrip - get Irfanview (it's free)
use Irfanview to extract all frames, then put them back together a a pngstrip using AniUtil

Softpedia has Bitstrip(19kb) since redlar's site is kaput. You could also use GifSplitter which will split the images into separate images.

Interesting, didn't know Irfanview could do this. Does it extract the frames to a transparent png?

nope

extracts to separate gif frames - but will keep tranparency if selected in the options

for those you extract with no transparency, you can run them through Giffy (getting kinda a hard to find)

Well, I tried to download BitStrip but none of the websites will let me download :SNIFF!:

Tried Irfanview, But I must not be understanding how to do it.

Can you please give me a step by step on how to do it. If you have the time.

I can get png animated but everything is not in right size and color is all changed.

Thanks for the help
